Wooden Musical Instruments from Lehoo Castle

Before children talk they sing. The sad thing is we all sang and made music before someone told us we weren't talented! My toddler granddaughter loves music and singing so I saved this set of musical instruments for a time when were were all together as a family.

Two-year-old, Lizzie distributed the instruments – xylophone, wooden sticks, tambourine, castanet, maraca, clarinet, wooden sounder, hand bells and rain sounder. And so began hilarious renditions of nursery songs with us all singing and playing. Lizzie called out what we were to play next and every now and again she swapped our instruments. It took her a few goes before she got the hang of blowing through the "clarinet" but her face was a picture when she made a sound.

Since then we have "played" the instruments virtually every time Lizzie visits. The instruments are well made and are a good fit for small hands and offer hours of fun while encouraging a sense of rhythm particularly when played to the accompaniment of recorded music.

The only thing which lets this set down is the rather naff drawstring bag to keep the instruments in, which was badly made and which we don't use. I was going to drop a heart for that then decided the fun and educational elements of the set more than compensated.
