Lizzie couldn't believe her eyes when Baby Annabell Leah arrived. She adores her "babies". Her first was for her first birthday, then we had Little BABY Born for review. His name soon changed from Baby to Boy (and I wondered if she'd read The Secret Garden behind my back!) Boy is great for introducing the idea of peeing in the potty!
So Leah is not her name. She's Baby or Big Baby as she's 43 cms. I introduced Big Baby's attributes gradually. Lizzie's face (after I 'd added the three AAA batteries and switched her on) was an absolute picture. She was entranced that the doll called her Mama, made sucking noises when fed, burped, cried and slept after being gently rocked. All perfect preparation for when her new baby brother or sister arrives in August.
Leah comes with a light purple romper suit, cap, bottle, dummy, bib, charm and baby album with sticker sheet.
The next stage of discovery was to open the Baby Annabell First Arrival Set. Lizzie was delighted with the outfits which added a whole new dimension to our playtime. She loves to change Big Baby's clothes (with a little help) and we discuss where Big Baby might be going when she is wearing a certain outfit. We were also sent a party dress which Big Baby is actually wearing in the photo above.
All the clothes are extremely well made and finished to a high standard (some manufacturers for children's – and adults' clothes could learn a lesson or two here) and all the fastenings are Velcro so easy for small hands to manipulate. Lizzie loves the nappy and shoes in particular.
PWT rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
