Tu party dressI have been increasing impressed with the quality and range of Tu at Sainsbury's. Having received a lovely jacket which has seen me through two autumns and we have reviewed children's swimwear and school uniform.

Sainsbury's have a great selection of party clothes for children and we were sent the Pink Party Dress for review. The dress is really well made with a grey lace overlay on the bodice, a satin waistband and the skirt is made up of three layers: grey net on top, followed by pink to match the bodice and supported by a pink stiff petticoat attached to a soft pink one to prevent scratching. The dress is made of cotton and polyester.

Harriet's face was a picture of delight when she saw it (a relief as she can be very stubborn if she doesn't like an outfit) and immediately suggested her grey cardigan to wear with it. And the dress for age five fitted perfectly.

We were going out to review a Prezzo restaurant and when we arrived she received many compliments on her dress.

Just as important as how it looks on first wearing is how it launders. I washed is on 30° (although it can be put into a 40° cycle), gave it a good shake afterwards and hung it to dry. There was no need for ironing – another blessing.

This size costs £18 which is excellent value for money from Tu at Sainsbury's.
