Five forget Mother's Day by Bruno VincentHaving reviewed a previous title in this series – Five Go Parenting – I was eager to see Enid Blyton's Famous Five characters in their next escapade. Five Forget Mother's Day does not disappoint!

George and her mother (known to all as Aunt Fanny or AF) have an uncomfortable relationship not made any easier by the fact that the "spiky" daughter has forgotten to buy her mother presents on previous occasions. Taking Timmy the dog for a walk in the park George considers and rejects various ideas for gifts.

In fact she knows exactly what her mother would like best. But that would involve a visit to stay with her daughter. Julian Dick and Anne join forces to help with the celebrations but soon after Aunt Fanny arrives, tension rises. Could the day be saved?

I love these books. The adult versions inspired by Enid Blyton's characters are witty and entertaining. Perfect for anyone who grew up reading the Famous Five adventures. Five Forget Mother's Day is a fabulous spoof complete with line drawings from the original books.

A perfect gift for Mothering Sunday.
