The Milky Way Adventure Park has much to offer any family and is highly recommended. We visited this park during a very wet half-term in May and had about three hours rain-free.

However there is enough to do and see, rain or shine as the indoor dodgems and time warp play area as well as the shows and displays keep everybody busy.

I visited the park with four children aged from nine to 14 years old and they were well entertained for most of the day without any long queuing. There is plenty to do for the younger child too with the under-fives’ fantasy farm play area and the animal bottle-feeding show proving popular. I was particularly impressed by the Droid destroyer dodgems having regular sessions for younger children and parents. These were popular and appeared much more enjoyable and safer for the smaller children.

The most popular rides for my children were the dodgems and the cosmic typhoon roller coaster, especially for the teenagers who had so many rides they could not remember how many!  My 12 year-old son particularly liked the clone zone alien interactive ride which had the longest queue (only about 15 minutes) and was particularly scary and exciting.

The time warp adventure play area was also a great place to easily spend an hour or two, especially in wet weather. The drop-slides are challenging especially the black hole and double drop-slide but this area was well supervised at all times.

Initially the teenagers thought this was not for them until they actually tried the drop-slides which they found great fun. Don’t forget to take your socks to this area as bare skin can be painful especially as the child or adult will want more than one go!

Every hour the park has a show/display that were well received by the large audiences. We particularly liked the ferret racing - my nine year old daughter thought the ferrets were very sweet. Again the staff appeared very safety conscious during these displays and the arenas are spacious enough to accommodate a large audience. We found the staff helpful and friendly throughout our day and the park was well supervised at all times.

We had our own picnic but cafes are suitably placed if you want a quiet cup of tea while you watch the children in the play area. All the activities are free once you pay the admission fee, except for the archery tuition, and access to all the rides and play areas is unlimited.

The Milky Way is excellent value for money for the activities and rides provided and we certainly had an enjoyable and entertaining day, despite the rain.
