Black & Decker Steam MopHaving four cats and a dog in the house means a constant battle about keeping the floors clean. So I was looking forward to trying out the Black & Decker Steam Mop. At first glance it looked complicated to put together and use but in fact it turned out to be simplicity itself.

The great plus factor about the mop is that it uses only water and heat – no chemicals – and, we are informed, it kills 99.99 per cent of germs. You only need half a litre of water (measuring jug provided) and the machine takes 15 seconds to heat up ready for action.

The Black & Decker Steam Mop works on vinyl, laminate and wooden floors (which have been sealed) and refreshes carpets. The Autoselect® technology allows you to turn the image-led dial to the correct surface and the steam level will be automatically selected for you. The flexible head makes it easy to get into awkward corners and the removable and washable micro-fibre pad is said to last for 100 cleaning cycles.

After I'd used the Black & Decker Steam Mop, the vinyl in our bathroom looked really good and I managed to remove a sticky patch on the laminate under a bed that had previously defied my attentions. The bedroom floor looked sparkling clean afterwards and the hall carpet looked – well –  refreshed!

The Black & Decker Steam Mop is so easy to use and effective that I would thoroughly recommend it.
