Michael Rosen launches Children's Book Week on the London Eye

publication date: Oct 6, 2008

Children’s Book Week is a celebration of reading for pleasure for children of primary school age. Now in its 77th year, it is always held in the first full week of October.

Michale Rosen accompanied local school children on a trip on the London Eye before joining them at Queen Elizabeth Hall where they participated in writing a group poem about the Southbank's famous attraction.

This year more than 400 events are taking place at schools and libraries across the country to celebrate reading.

Friday 10 October is National Bookstart Day, a celebration of Bookstart which gives three free packs of books to every child in the UK.
