Rubik's Cube is on the web - and ten lucky readers can win a cube!

publication date: May 1, 2008

Since the mid-1970s Rubik’s Cube has been fascinating generations of children and adults alike and now it has its own designated website to take the Rubik challenge to even greater heights!

Not only do you get fantastic games to play – there’s lots of information about the cube itself and how it was invented, about the worldwide competitions and the nimble-fingered speedcubers who are acknowledged to be the best in the world.

The more you explore the site, the more you find! Try clicking on Games and you are taken to an area that’s really going to challenge your brain. Take the Rubik’s Clock, for instance. Three "faces", each with nine clocks, and what you have to do is set each one to 12 o’clock. Easy! Well, not that easy…

Click on Rubik’s Academy and you will access an excellent source of help and guidance for your cubing, including video master classes from some of today’s top speedcubers.  And if you are desperate to know what other Rubik’s Cubers have achieved, you can chat to them online through the Rubik’s Forum.

Whatever level you and the kids are at with your Rubik’s Cube, or if you want to have another go at solving the little fella, the new website’s for you.

So if you'd like to win a Rubik's Cube answer the simple question below:

In what decade did Rubik's Cube first appear?

Email your answer by 7 June 2008 and the  senders of the first ten correct entries chosen at random will each receive a Rubik's Cube from Drumond Park Games.
