Sheer amazement would be the genuine description of Toby’s face as he came down to breakfast and playing on the CD was "Toby get up it’s the morning, we’ve started a brand new day." He was thrilled to hear his own name sung and then to see it printed on the CD.

My Silver Balloon 1 is a personalised music CD that contains your child’s name sung throughout the lyrics and repeated more than 45 times. Each of the seven songs has a different tempo, theme and flavour from an upbeat rumble in the jungle to a gentle spaceman’s lullaby and one of Toby’s personal favourites "The Best That We Can Do" that has a very direct invitation to "Come on Toby sing along with me" to learn your ABC, 123 and colours.

There is also a bedtime story told by Channel Four News anchorman Jon Snow. We have listened repeatedly to the CD since it arrived and Toby loves the songs but I cannot get him engaged in Snow’s story about the Silver Balloon. To be honest, this is not a problem.

To order a personalised CD one simply selects from a long list of names on Silver Balloon’s website [www.silverballoon.com]; alternatively there is also a name request form. My Silver Balloon cost £14 +p&p.

Orders received by 4pm on a week day are normally dispatched the same day by first class post. This seems to be an exceptionally good service for personalised gifts which tend to need at least a month lead time in many reputable children’s catalogues.

The CD is marketed as suitable from four months until early school. I think that My Silver Balloon would make an ideal gift for one to four year olds. Toby has really enjoyed this CD and is keen to hear his sister’s name sung to the beat, perhaps Father Christmas will have to bring her My Silver Balloon 2!
