Where's the Ballerina? by Abigail Goh & Anna Claybourne

Where's the ballerina?Where's the Ballerina?illustrated by Abigail Goh arrived with perfect timing just before we went to see The Nutcracker at the London Coliseum. Harriet has seen all the My First Ballets and a couple of filmed versions so is quite adept at following the narrative. It was very useful to be able to read about Clara's Christmas adventure before seeing it on stage.

Where's the Ballerina?  explores ten of what the authors consider the best-loved ballets and some are obviously more child-friendly than others. So we have settings, story outline and a double page spread of the characters hidden in the busy ballet scene. Plus there is a beautiful ballerina as depicted on the About This Book page to find in the scenes as well as a hidden peacock.

The ballets are:

  • Swan Lake
  • Romeo and Juliet
  • Giselle
  • The Nutcracker
  • La Bayadère
  • Coppélia
  • A Midsummer Night's Dream
  • The Sleeping Beauty
  • Don Quixote
  • Cinderella

The answers, in case you need any help, are in the back of the book.

This is a lovely book to treasure and dip into and will appeal to both boys and girls in the six to nine age range. A perfect introduction to classic ballets
