Jumbo Games announces jigsaw amnesty

publication date: Oct 18, 2014

Child doing jigsaw puzzleJumbo Games is conducting a jigsaw amnesty in conjunction with hospitals across England and Scotland and local Hobbycraft stores.

The amnesty will take place in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Edinburgh. From Saturday 18 October until 2 November you will be able to drop off old and used jigsaws at selected Hobbycraft stores. In return for the donation, contributors will receive a money off voucher which can be used to purchase any Jumbo puzzle in store. For every puzzle handed in, Jumbo will donate one brand new jigsaw to the selected hospital in each of the five cities. The chosen hospitals include Great Ormond Street Hospital, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh and Bristol Southmead Hospital.

When the drop off points close at the start of November, Jumbo will be able to donate a selection of puzzles to each hospital in the run up to Christmas. Not only will this add an element of fun into what can be a hard time for poorly individuals and their families, it will also provide entertainment for the large number of nurses and doctors that work to help others over the festive period. What is more it enables members of the public to indulge their charitable side and donate gifts to those that aren’t able to spend Christmas at home.
