Having a bad hair day? Or just feeling your age? Steven Goldsworthy has some ideas to create a more youthful look

publication date: Aug 2, 2007
Steven Goldsworthy is Partner and Creative Director of Goldsworthy’s hairdressing, a family-run business in the South West of England.

Goldsworthy’s hairdressing is now firmly established as one of England’s premier salons having achieved nationwide critical acclaim for its innovative hairdressing and training techniques.

Here Steven gives his top tips for a youthful look:
  • Sweep you hair off your face. It not only creates wider cheekbones but it gives the effect of an instant face-lift.
  • If you wear a bob, tuck it behind your ears to open up that cheekbone area.
  • Grow out your fringe to open up your face and knock off a year or two or if your forehead is furrowed grow a fringe instead.
  • Allow short bobs to grow a bit longer to help draw attention away from a scrawny neck.
  • Soften your hair colouring as well as your style to work better for you as your skin colour changes.
  • If your hair is dry take vitamin E supplements to condition your locks from the inside.
  • Wearing tight pony tails often places too much pressure at the hairline and can cause hair-loss – time for a change of style!
