Britax XP SICTFor the last couple of years we have been using the Britax King Plus for Harriet and as it can be used in various cars it was perfect for us, as non-car owners who travel with friends and in cabs. Harriet was just coming up to the next Group 2/3 car seat category and is a tall child, so we were delighted to try our the Britax XP SICT car seat, having established it was compatible with the three friends' cars we use.

The Britax XP SICT is a million miles away from the old "booster seats" we had when my daughter was that age. This seat has been designed with maximum protection and safety in mind. As the majority of accidents happen from the front, the X-P Pad takes 30 per cent of the impact away from the child's neck. The two-step cushion compression works by absorbing forces:

  1. from the crash in the chest area, and
  2. in the neck area as the chin moves toward the chest.

Side impact collisions are one of the most severe types of collisions on the roads and the new flexible SICT cushion is on both sides of the car seat, so you only need to activate it on the side closest to the door where the impact will be the most severe.  This allows space and comfort on the other side of the seat for additional passengers.

We are thrilled with the Britax XP SICT, and so is Harriet as you can see from the photo.

PWT rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

The Britax XP SICT is currently available from Mothercare stores only and retails at £165.
