Britax affinityThe Britax Affinity is a really well designed pushchair/pram which can be used from birth to older toddler (three years or 17kg) – this is a great advantage in these cash-strapped times as it means you are sorted buggy-wise for a long time. You can also personalise your options by choosing one of 18 colour combinations and three chassis colour options.

For use with the new-born there is a special wedge-shaped padded cushion to give the baby support, and then later on as the baby gets bigger you can dispense with the cushion so that the baby lies on a comfy quilted inlay. As time goes on you can change things further so that the older baby/toddler faces forward and the pram changes into a forward facing buggy which we use for Dylan aged two.

Assembly-wise the whole system is very easy to put together, requiring no more than a cursory glance at the manual. The wheels and suspension are particularly impressive: the wheels are like mini tyres (you can add air with a bicycle pump) and there is an adjustable suspension (hard or soft depending on terrain) which gives the pint-sized passenger a really smooth ride. In fact Daisy (three months) slept like the proverbial baby for three hours solid on her inaugural ride!

The steering is light and easy and the handles are adjustable to allow for differing heights of user, and there is a solidly reassuring brake. The buggy has the look of the trendy three wheeler but instead of one wheel at the front it has two small wheels which feels like it lends more stability. The fixtures and fittings are of high quality and come in a range of colours, and there is decent space underneath to store shopping/baby paraphernalia, with its own protective cover against the elements. The whole ensemble folds easily for boot storage, and you can detach the main body of the buggy for even more compact folding.

All in all, I can't find anything wrong with the Affinity so recommend unreservedly.

To limit the chances of this pushchair becoming part of the £60m UK trade in stolen buggies, each affinity has its own individual code, similar to a car Vehicle Information Number (VIN), which owners register online. Anyone can then determine whether or not a specific Britax affinity is still with its correct owner – therefore, making it a less attractive option for thieves as re-sale is made tougher.
