Louise Pollard writes:

This hairbrush  has proved a big hit in our family. My daughter hates brushing her hair. On a recent PGL trip with the cubs she was proud to tell me that she did not brush her hair at all during her week's stay.  It showed!

Despite the fact that the Tangle Teezer looks so synthetic -  bright pink with plastic teeth - and that your hair should be full of static after using it,  this is not the case.  The Tangle Teezer has two tiers of bristles which seem to do the trick. After a couple of  light brushes over tangled hair, the third brush down is usually smooth and pain-free.

It also gently scratches the scalp, which my children love, particularly if I brush their hair backwards up from the nape of the neck. Instant scalp therapy.  We will be looking out to buy another one , as we really cannot risk being without one now that we are hooked!

And Sian Minett agrees:

This brush has a really funky design that is shaped to your hand and Tabitha (nine) and I both loved the shocking pink colour (but it is also available in a more conservative black!). However, what is really great about this Tangle Teezer is what it does to your hair.

Tabitha’s locks, whilst straight and fine, are prone to knots. Whilst the brush didn’t exactly glide through her hair, it did dramatically reduce the number of attempts to brush out tangles and was a lot less painful than with her usual brush. Once the knots were out, brushing with the Tangle Teezer left Tabitha’s hair far shinier and silkier than before.

I have tried the brush on my own hair with similar results. My long, lack-lustre locks looked much healthier after brushing so I will definitely be investing in another brush for myself!

The Tangle Teezer costs £9.99 and is avialable from Boots or www.tangleteezer.com
