When it comes to exercise most of us have a string of excuses to avoid actually doing it – in spite of the fact we know how important being physically active is!

The gym is too expensive/ too far away or we need childcare. Classes are always at the wrong time. Even using a DVD can be inconvenient (!) when other people in the family might want to watch a film!

So Phil Black has come up with a solution - he has designed  FitDeck, a pack of exercise cards which you can take with you anywhere and you don’t need any equipment at all. All you need is the space to exercise and some comfortable clothes. No more excuses then!

Each of the 50 cards offers an upper, middle, lower or full body exercise and by shuffling the pack and using the first 20 cards for a 20-minute workout you can create over three million possible workout routines. The pack also contains “wild cards” which may tell you to skip or repeat a set of exercises.

The idea is that each exercise is for one minute – when you begin you do the lowest number of repetitions and work up to the advanced level. Each card illustrates the exercise and gives written instructions.

By shuffling the FitDeck cards each time you work out, you get a unique programme – and you never know what’s coming next!

FitDeck also comes with a leaflet on nutrition and eating healthily which is full of sensible down-to-earth advice.

Available at www.fitnessdeck.co.uk  FitDeck costs £18.95.
