Shrek the Third takes you on a big adventure which is a series of quests; through forests, paths and over moors meeting lots of monsters, witches, bad guys, boys throwing rocks, dragons, knights in armour and prison keepers.

You start the quest as Shrek and then as the adventure progresses - you become different characters.  Some of the characters are really good - such as Arty, Puss in Boots, Sleeping Beauty and Fiona.

The game is quite easy to use,  and you have to save the game as the quests each can take five to ten minutes depending on how you play it - if you want to collect  loads of money, and then buy things at the shops, it takes longer, or you can just whiz through killing people and moving onto the next level

The game controls which character  you are and is relatively straight- forward. The graphics are great  - very realistic and colourful - but you can appear to have only have one saved file per player which means only one adventure saved.

Shrek the Third does not appear to come with lots of help - so it has been tricky moving on to some of the levels. So it has been a good team- working game - and could be difficult for a child by themselves.

Adam, who is nine, has virtually monopolised this game and is currently on level ten where he’s fighting a big monster with an axe.

One of the really good features of the game is the additional  “multi-player" mini-games.  These are quite simple, a lot of fun  and a light relief from the tricky problem solving of the adventure

Adam’s favourites have been: Shooting Gallery  which features a big bucket of tomatoes to shoot pirates, green pixies and witches, if you hit the donkey you to lose time  and Ships Ahoy  -  a cannon shooting moving ships and different colours earn you more or less points.

Iona (seven) really likes playing Castle Capture  against her brother.

Shrek the Third  has fast become one of our family's favourite games and I would really recommend it.

On our scale is got an eight out of ten rating - we‘ve been finding it quite difficult to know what to do next which can be frustrating - but it is very exciting!
