Karen Trinder shares her experiences of joining Parenting Without Tears

publication date: Jul 8, 2007

As a busy single mum, sometimes I find it hard to cope as my life lurches from crisis to crisis. It’s nice to have a source of down-to-earth advice that is available whenever you need it.

I read all the articles on how to deal with the difficult teenage years, and I especially liked the piece on apologising to your teenager – it’s refreshing to read advice so centred in the real world. It’s good to know there are others out there who need to apologise!

Anne doesn’t forget that we were people before we became parents and there are offers and articles about making sure we look and feel our best even when picking up dirty clothes from the floor the third time in a day!

I have been lucky enough to win a flotation session from a competition on the site and I look forward to the destressing that this will provide.

I am also going to “try and test” a dust mite control device for my daughter’s room, as I have joined the test panel. If this helps improve my daughter’s health, that will be worth an awful lot to us both.

All in all, a really helpful site – I didn’t realise how useful joining would be. I’m delighted I did!
