Vosene Kids advertises that it "helps to prevent head lice". I am not a big believer in these sort of claims, even with their independent research (2008) which states that  "8 out of 10  children were protected against head lice while using Vosene Kids". They do also  recommend wet-combing in their literature as an added precaution.

I was happy to use this product for the children as the head lice repellent elements are Tea Tree Oil and Lemon Eucalyptus , natural repellents rather than manufactured insecticides.

My children have been using this for a few weeks now, and the smell is fine and  it doesn’t sting the eyes . They have continued to use a separate conditioner as my daughter felt that the conditioning element was not enough for her prone-to-tangles locks.

We have used the Leave-In Spray a  little but not consistently. Neither myself nor my children particularly like leave-in sprays, as in our opinion they leave a residue that is not always appealing. The Vosene one was not as bad as some, but we are still not big fans of these type of products.

If I am told that there is an outbreak of head lice, after a thorough wet- combing session we have the Leave-In Spray on standby.  During use of the Vosene shampoo, my daughter was exposed to head lice - and she didn’t catch any!

Coincidence? Or does the product really work ? The jury is still out for me but If your child is very prone to head lice then the Vosene Kids Shampoo and Leave-in Spray could be worth a try.
