The Sixty Minute FamilyI am a very fast reader but I must say I'd be hard pushed to read The Sixty  Minute Family – 117 pages – in an hour. And, in fact, you wouldn't want to as it is well-written and full of good advice that you might just miss if you are reading too fast!

After a first chapter which is Rob Parsons' own exerpience of a hospital waiting-room and talking to a young woman about her experiences of family life, The Sixty Minute Family is divided into 10 Life Lessons ranging from deciding how you will parent  to handling conflict  and appreciating the extended family. Each chapter includes other people's experiences and reminiscences as well as Action Points.

There is no doubt that Rob Parsons' book is full on extremely useful insights into parenting and is wittily presented. Any parent reading The Sixty Minute Family will find something to relate to.

My only criticsm is tha it spans the whole spectrum of parenting from birth to teens and therefore only offers niblets of advice distilled from his vast experience as an international speaker on family issues and executive chairman of the charity, Care for the Family.

What perhaps is needed is several volumes beginning with The Sixty Minute Family – Babies and Toddlers – over to you Rob!
