NutriProfile, which offers free personal nutritional analysis, has been designed to help adults (aged 19 plus) understand our personal nutritional requirements and the changes that can easily be made to our diet to improve overall health and wellbeing.
NutriProfile uses a scientifically validated food frequency questionnaire which asks a number of simple questions regarding weekly food intake, as well as age, height and personal health goals to create a personalised report.
Obviously no questionnaire can cover every food type and situation but Nutriprofile is incredibly comprehensive. Just filling in the questionnaire makes you think about what you are consuming and how often and what you may be missing out on! It take into consideration what you may be adding to your cereal or spreading on your bread and how you cook your food. I found it very impressive.
The 24-page report you receive may take two days to arrive – mine was incredibly swift but maybe that was because the service was just launched. It highlights what your body needs and what your actual intake is - so you can see at a glance where you need more improve your diet! It includes lifestyle advice like taking more exercise.
The report tells you which foods provide what you are lacking and also suggests supplements you could try. However there is no hard sell on the supplements and the report you receive it completely free of charge. It also highlights the fact that our diet does change from time to time and the questionnaire should be repeated every three months.
Healthspan, the largest direct supplier of nutritional supplements in the UK, developed NutriProfile with guidance from an expert nutrition group including former Head of Nutrition at England RFU, Dr Adam Carey; General Practitioner and health writer, Dr Sarah Brewer and Nutritionist and Senior Lecturer, Dr Ann Walker. The service is also based on research by three leading UK universities.
I would recommend anyone to complete the NutriProfile questionnaire - it may be your diet just needs a few tweaks to make you feel healthier and happier! Or you may find out why you're always tired or have skin problems.
