 Personally I'd buy Julian Holland's Railway Days Out just for the stunning photography. This is a wonderful book to sit and peruse and let your mind wander back to a different age. However Railway Days Out has a more practical use as well - as a guide to over 340 heritage attractions:
Divided into seven regions each with its own map and list of attractions, Railway Days Out lists concise information including route and opening times plus some historical detail. Also included are railway path walking and cycling routes. Julian Holland's Railway Days Out is a delightful read and a great reference book to have on the family bookshelf ready to inspire you wherever you happen to be in Britain.
