PGL Barton Hall

PGL is introducing greater flexibility at its largest Family Adventure centre, Barton Hall in Devon in 2014, with a newly-revised activity programme giving families additional free time.

Guest feedback at Barton Hall  last summer revealed that “families were so busy enjoying the full-on activities they didn’t have time to use the centre’s great facilities!” says Steve Hougham PGL’s holidays business manager.

Families with children as young as five can go abseiling and aero-balling or try the trapeze and vertical challenge: there are 25 activities at Barton Hall,” explains Hougham. “And when asked what else they’d like to do, families requested more free time to enjoy the heated swimming pool and simply relax!”

Now in 2014, every day on every PGL Family Adventure holiday at Barton Hall includes a Flexi Option session.  Families can opt to splash around the heated outdoor pool, relax in the various lounges and chill-out areas, explore the 46 acres of grounds above Torbay, or join a fun activity session where no skill or sporting ability is required.

The evening entertainment programme has also changed, with some "children on" evening activities introduced, during which parents can enjoy a quiet evening in the bar or go off-site while PGL staff supervise their children.

Family Adventures of three, four or seven nights are offered in 2014, on dates at Spring Bank Holiday and throughout the summer.

Prices start at £159 for children aged five to 18 years, and from £199 per adult.  Children two to four years old are free. Prices include accommodation, three meals a day, activities, equipment and instruction.

Accommodation ranges from family rooms in the main house to purpose-built chalets in the grounds.  Rooms are simple, but all have en-suite facilities.

PGL is also offering, for the first time, play-and-stay breaks at Barton Hall, which means a family can enjoy an activity break then stay for extra nights on a bed-and-breakfast basis so they can explore south Devon’s glorious beaches and family-friendly attractions.  Extra nights cost £25 per adult/child.
