PediRoller from Carnation FootwearThe PediRoller: soothing foot exerciser, by Carnation Footcare, was a welcome relief for my tired and achy feet. It has been podiatrist designed for tired and aching feet, including heel and arch pain, plantar fasciitis and heel spurs.

As a sufferer of plantar fasciitis (painful inward rolling of the foot) I was keen to be offered anything that might help. The PediRoller has a ridged design to aid circulation, which is extremely effective for achy and painful feet. I was dubious that a foot roller would help that much, especially as I have tried various different things to try and help the pains in my feet, however this one really is great (if not slightly tickly), massaging the feet and reducing tension and inflammation. On a hot day, the PediRoller can also be put in the freezer to chill, before being used, which is really refreshing and comforting after work.

As it is easy to use and the advice is to use the massager for three to five minutes, it can be done whilst sitting down and relaxing (and watching TV in my case) without it encroaching into your day.

The cooling foot massage gel is an added bonus and definitely soothes tired feet at the end of a long day, as it is enriched with menthol and peppermint.

SilverSockThe high performance SilverSock is made with pure silver fibre, and is designed to keep feet warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer and eliminate any odour by neutralising its principal causes, eliminating 99.9% of bacteria in less than one hour.

They are also anti-static. The socks are brilliant as they do not lose any of the properties they have over time, or through washing, and survive my washing machine – which not all things do!

The socks regulate the temperature within the shoe, reducing the risk of blistering and friction (something I experienced unfortunately earlier this year). They also, due to the silver properties, recognised in the medical world, help to eradicate 400 different types of bacteria, the main cause of foot odour. For a runner, however, they are not as padded as the socks I would usually wear, so less comfortable in that respect.

The socks also offer relief for sufferers of diabetes, chilblains, epidermolysis bullosa and circulation disorders.
