My Favourite Nursery Rhymes DVD

Small children, even babies, love being sung to and, as they grow older, they appreciate the ridiculousness of some of the nursery rhymes. So add some fabulous graphics and animation to well known children's songs and you have My Favourite Nursery Rhymes DVD from BabyTV and Classic FM.

Harriet at five months loves this DVD – her only DVD it has to be said. We watch it with her in the wind down time before bath and bed. What is special is how each nursery rhyme is individualised with different types of animation from a pop up story book for Little Miss Muffet to parts of fruits and vegetables making up the scenery and characters in Row the Boat.

Olivia, Harriet's mum, loves one that new to me, Sally the Camel, and I must confess to being rather put off by the real children performing in The Wheels on the Bus who look like the progeny of Stepford Wives!

However, overall,  My Favourite Nursery Rhymes is a delightfully charming DVD which I would recommend without reservation. Running for about half an hour, if you can't remember the words you can play the sub-titled version. And songs can be played individually.
