Jellybug launchJellybug, the new online channel for pre-schoolers launched with a bang. For the Henlon family, it was a fantastic start to the day. Its creators Jonti Picking and Sarah Darling have truly conceived a radically new children's online channel

Jellybug is bold and mesmerising, where learning and fun come together to invigorating repetitive dance beats.

Victoria and Beatrice were both hypnotised by the Jellybug online videos. Animated characters such as Narwhals, Catface, Kenya Lion and Tiger are extremely child friendly. This contributed to the show being engaging, easy to learn whilst enjoying the music and having fun. For example, the alphabet song depicted simple Japanese-style animé with educational content and heart pumping dance music.

For the kids, the launch event was exhilarating, with numerous activities that kept them busy and well entertained. Victoria was elated when she won a medal in the dance competition. Activities included: storytelling, animal balloon, bubbles, face-painting, dancing, and colouring. There was even a competition to guess the number of jelly beans in a Jelly bean machine. There were jellybug lollipops (lollipops made of jelly candy in the shape of a bug) and lots of other wonderful things to eat.

Victoria simply loved the name Jellybug and she kept yelling it out like it was her rallying cry. She appeared to be having the time of her life. This simply set the scene for what JellyBug represented – a combination of learning and fun via the use of repetition and music. The Jellybug online children's channel was created for the  child of today where educational content is disguised in fun-loving dance music.

Notably,  we really enjoyed the "makeover" to  Humpty Dumpty, 12345 Once I Caught a Fish Alive and Pop Goes the Weasel nursery rhythms; they were refreshing takes on the classics. Most of all, we loved the music sound tracks featuring dance music. The videos were reminiscent of early 80s Sesame Street videos and classic video game animation.

In my opinion, Jellybug online children's channel embodies the notion of learning whilst having fun and is the online channel to watch children's television – you won't be disappointed.
