Galt 2in1 Playnest

I was very excited about receiving the Galt two-in-one Playnest following the arrival of our first grandchild. However frustration set in as it took some time to "ease the nozzle open" and inflate the plastic ring that fits inside the outer fabric cover. Given the size of the ring it cries out for a small pump to be included rather than rely on manual inflation. Luckily my husband soon found a tyre pump in the garage and this made the job easier.

The Playnest has been versatile from day one. Initially when Matthew was very small it allowed me to put him down safely (strapped in of course) whilst I did other tasks around him. At first he was a little apprehensive (his bottom lip began to wobble) but the supportive cradle shape of the padded area soon reassured him and all was well.

The baby resting area is soft and supportive of his neck and head so that as he grew rapidly he was able to start to look around with confidence. The soft material of the harness is also very suitable for his skin. I have been confident to leave him for short periods of time in the Playnest, following the safety guidance given not to leave him totally unattended.

Now that he is able to support himself I have turned the Playnest over and used the padded seating area to support him while he plays. The colourful and bright design of this side of the Playnest quickly drew his attention and the pictures of different animals gives us lots to talk about.

However, I have been disappointed with the multi-sensory toys around the edge of the Playnest as they are very static and have not kept his attention for very long. Another annoying factor is that the plastic ring deflates quickly and so needs inflating frequently.

Looking at the extensive range of Galt Playnests I think if were buying one I would look carefully at the Playnest with Gym.
