Emily and Her Pharaoh: The Golden DragonThis book is written by Ian Thomas who is an amazing man as well as an amazing author. Ian is an author and is also discovering new drugs from under the sea to help people with cancer.

Emily and her Pharaoh: The Golden Dragon is set in 2020 and is about a girl who is a top model. Every day after Emily has modelled she sees a strange boy watching her all the time. When Emily finally speaks to the boy, she finds out that he has a problem and needs her help.

I don't want to spoil the story but there's a statue of a Golden Dragon which was lost long ago in a huge battle, the statue belonged to the young boy I mentioned earlier. The statue is really valuable and Emily wants to help save it from getting blown up. Emily travels back to ancient Hong Kong where the young boy's dad works for a society to save endangered creatures like pink dolphins.

I really enjoyed reading Emily and her Pharaoh: The Golden Dragon. I like the illustrations which are beautiful black and white line drawings and the sense of adventure.

This book is great for eight to 12 year olds – both boys and girls. The book taught me about endangered species and history and the modern era.
