Keith Souter is an established writer of historical fiction and he also writes crime novels as Keith Moray and westerns as Clay More. Some of you may even recognise the name as Dr Keith Souter who sometimes answers medical problems on Parenting Without Tears. A man of many talents he's also the author of Schoolboy Science Remembered recently reviewed on PWT.

The Curse of the Body Snatchers is Keith's first children's novel and follows in the strong tradition of gripping yarns for good readers. Jack Moon, a 12 year old waif in London, secretly buries the body of his best friend Danny whose death sets off a chain of events that will take young Jack to the brink of death on several occasions.

Three powerful men enter his life but who should he trust? Professor Stackpool a phrenologist who claims the bumps on Jack's head mean he will always be poor and ignorant? The kindly Dr Willis who offers him a chance to go to school? Or Sir Lionel who gives him a job in a very strange household?

Both boys and girls aged eight to 13 will get caught up in this mystery set in Victorian London. The Curse of the Body Snatchers is a great read with a lot of surprises along the way. The perfect introduction to Jack Moon and his later adventures!
