Clarisonic® (from the inventor of the
Sonicare sonic toothbrush) is the type of brush
professionals use for facials that until now has been
denied to the home user.
The brush uses a gentle
micro-massage action to cleanse so
effectively that skincare products
penetrate better. When you think that a
tissue of cotton pad
wipes over the skin, it's easy to see that a
brush with a frequency of more than
300 movements per second would be far
more effective. In fact tests show that
Clarisonic® is twice as
effective and actually
promotes better absorption of
serums and creams after use.
Clarisonic® is simplicity itself to use. After
removing any eye make-up, just
dampen your face and apply some of your
usual cleanser. Switch on the brush – timed for
one minute – and work over
forehead and nose with little
circular movements. After
20 seconds a bleep alerts you to move to
chin area. Following the
next bleep move to one cheek for
ten seconds and then repeat on the other. Then just
rinse with warm water. One
minute and you have a
superclean face. The
brushhead then needs a
little wash too!
The
Clarisonic® is so
safe you can use it while you're in the
shower – making it a great
time-saver for busy mums. Plus you feel the
benefits straightaway. My
skin (and daughter
Olivia's as she just had to have a go too) felt
fabulously clean afterwards and the brush is
gentle enough to be used
twice a day.
Research carried out by the makers
shows that after
eight weeks there was an improvement in
fine lines and wrinkles.
There are lots of
skin conditions like rosacea and acne that
respond very well to being cleansed by the
Clarisonic® and it's great for
men to use as well – although you should buy another
brush attachment for each person (just under £20 each). Brushes should be
replaced every three to four months.
At just
under £150 the
Clarisonic® may seem a
luxury but it's guaranteed for
two years and will
save you money on
moisturisers which you will use less of. Maybe something to add to your
Christmas list!
