The Eve Appeal is a charity the funds ground-breaking research into
gynaecological cancers.
Its aims are to
educate women on the five different
gynaecological cancers:
vulval, vaginal, cervical, womb, and
ovarian; to fight for
better detection and improve
treatment.
Founded in 1996 it
raises money to fund the research programme at the
Department of Women's Cancer based at
UCL. To rasie money for this charity,
Charlotte Oram is running in the
Virgin London Marathon.
Charlotte says: "I truly believe this is a f
antastic cause and whole-heartedly support the work of
The Eve Appeal.
"There is a remarkably
high percentage of women that can't name the five
gynaecological cancers, let alone notice the
symptoms. I want to help change this.
"I am new to
running in the last few years and I am
training hard to challenge myself and achieve a
personal goal whilst raising awareness and
support for this amazing
charity."
