The Cat in the Hat 60th Birthday EditionGenerations of children have grown up with Dr Seuss' books and probably the most famous is The Cat in the Hat, written in response to a claim that in the US children were not learning to read because the books they were given were boring.

Theodor Seuss Geisel (his real name and he added the Dr for fun) had already written 13 books and was challenged by his publishers to write a book using the 250 most common words. He actually managed it with 236 and the rest, as they say, is history...

On a boring wet day two children sit wishing they had something they could do until The Cat in the Hat arrives and so begins the adventure and a classic of Beginner Books was born.

This beautiful new 60th birthday edition comes with an accompanying The Cat in the Hat Sticker Activity Book to collect as well.
